We treat privately insured and self-paying patients and bill according to the German fee schedule for physicians (GOÄ). Every plan comes as a written estimate before you commit.
Following the 2024 decision, German statutory funds can cover lipedema liposuction from stage I under defined conditions. We nevertheless do not bill statutory funds: the techniques we use – water-jet and vibration assisted liposuction with our theatre and anaesthesia standard – are not financially viable at statutory rates.
Private insurers and provident funds usually assess individually. Our documentation – diagnosis, stage, symptoms, prior conservative treatment, photographs – is written to support that assessment.
Patients from the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia are usually self-paying. We plan each stay around one session plus its first wound check.
So that no item comes as a surprise afterwards.

Submit these documents before booking. Approval takes time, and planning around a decision is easier than reacting to it.
Cost information is general and does not replace an individual estimate. Reimbursement decisions are made by your insurer, not by us.
Because the reimbursement rates do not cover the standard we deliver. Water-jet and vibration assisted liposuction, theatre time, anaesthesia and a planned multi-session approach cannot be provided at statutory rates without compromising quality. We would rather be transparent than cut corners.
